I am Scheherazade my Sultan - Grand Season Opening MISO
SCHEHERAZADE: “I am Scheherezade, my Sultan. Daughter of the Vizier. Perhaps you would not remember, but we played together when we were children. I know you have lost faith in everything around you, in humans, in your family, even in yourself. Please let me make you forget! I love to narrate stories to the old and young……”
That were Scheherazade`s words when she appeared as a magical creature from a fairytale on stage with the Miami symphony Orchestra and Maestro Eduardo Marturet.
Athina was dressed by an fabulous dress by designer Angel Sanchez and real indian stone crown & jewels by Shiroi Di Cama. Her presentation was flawless & highly entertaining indeed, as was the amazing whole program of the beautiful Opening Season 2016 which let the audience speechless.
On Sunday October 23rd, Miami lit up magic with the premiere of the 29th season of the Miami Symphony Orchestra (MISO), which was held in the majestic Adrienne Arsht Center. The night resulted in a seductive musical alchemy under the direction of Maestro Eduardo Marturet, with a unique repertoire of two masterpieces and a world premiere, ushering in an innovative season that promises to fill the city of life and inspiration.
The concert gave his great start with the emblematic Ravel's Bolero, which shocked and wowed audiences with its inherent repetition of melodies creating a powerful instrumental harmony, that conquered the entire room. After the initial force, the second piece made up the energies of the night with great gentleness and subtlety. It was a world premiere of a piece composed by a woman composer in residence in MISO, Florencia Di Concilio. After intermission, the evening continued with the romantic and extraordinary piece Scheherazade. For this piece appeared on stage Maestro's Muse, Athina Marturet, like a real appearance of Scheherazade, dazzling the audience dressed in Angel Sanchez and jewels by Shiroiy D. Cama. Clearly, mischief and passionate spirit, Athina told three stories and a closing resume of 1001 Nights, followed by classical music pieces by Rimsky-Korsakov.
The fascinating synergy of this great premiere left a taste of seductive energy, raising the spirit and cultural scene of the city of Miami. The orchestra, the Maestro and his Muse Athina, radiated in a mystical and elegant, intimate atmosphere with effects of lights and sound. It was a great show confirming that the Miami Symphony Orchestra has been prepared to provide a majestic and exciting season to come. The next concert is on November 20th, MISOCHIC will mark the beginning of the season of art in the city with a show that will combine art, painting and classical music.

Miami, FL – octubre 26 de 2016 - El pasado domingo, Miami se iluminó de magia con el estreno de la temporada 29 de la Orquesta Sinfónica de Miami (MISO), la cual se llevó a cabo en el majestuoso Adrienne Arsht Center. La noche resultó en una seductora alquimia musical bajo la dirección del Maestro Eduardo Marturet, con un inigualable repertorio de dos obras maestras y un estreno mundial, dando inicio a una innovadora temporada que promete llenar a la ciudad de vida e inspiración.
El concierto dió su grandioso inicio con la emblemática pieza Bolero de Ravel, la cual cautivó al público con su inherente repetición de melodías creando una poderosa armonía instrumental, que conquistó toda la sala. Después del vigor inicial, la segunda pieza compensó las energías de la noche con gran suavidad y sutileza. Fue el estreno mundial de un tango maravilloso ‘Concerto for piano and Orchestra’, de la compositora en residencia de la MISO, Florencia Di Concilio.
Después del intermedio, la extraordinaria noche continuó con la romántica pieza Scheherazade. Como una verdadera aparición de la misma Scheherazade, llegó al escenario, la musa del maestro, Athina Marturet, deslumbrando al público vestida de Ángel Sánchez. Con picardía y espíritu apasionado, Athina narró tres historias de las 1001 Noches, seguidas de las piezas clásicas por Rimsky-Korsakov.
La fascinante sinergia de este gran estreno, dejó un sabor de energía seductora, elevando el espíritu y escenario cultural de la ciudad de Miami. La orquesta, el Maestro y su musa Athina, radiaron en una atmósfera mística y elegante insinuada por el efecto de las luces y estructura del teatro. Fue un gran espectáculo que confirma que la Orquesta Sinfónica de Miami se ha preparado para brindar una majestuosa y emocionante temporada por venir.
El 20 de noviembre, regresa MISO CHIC con un espectáculo de artes visuales donde la pintura, la escultura y la mύsica se combinaran en vivo en el escenario.
