GRAND SEASON OPENING
Miami, FL.: The Miami Symphony Orchestra (MISO) is proud to announce the beginning of the 28th season 2016/17, under the baton of Maestro Eduardo Marturet in his 11th Season, specially designed to enrich our community and give a variety of concerts with no precedent. Once again, Maestro Eduardo Marturet will demonstrate his talent and virtuosity to delight the most select audience. Grand Season Opening is the begining of a fantastic season performed by the professionalism of the great orchestra that is MISO, including 7 concerts in Concert Halls, and 5 refreshing outdoor locations, and free admission for the delight of our residents.
Next Sunday October 23rd at 6 pm, the Adrienne Arsht Center - Knight Concert Hall, will raise the curtain for the Grand Season Opening, that will begin with the first compasses of the emblematic Maurice Ravel's Bolero, his most famous musical piece. Then, the repertoire will also feature the Piano Concert of the extremely talented Florencia Di Concilio, Composer in Residence of the Miami Symphony Orchestra, that will present the World Premiere of a spellbinding tango, this magical evening will end with dazzling Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade, that was inspired by the collection of largely Middle Eastern and Indian tales known as The Thousand and One Nights (or The Arabian Nights).
Other highlights of the season include MISO-CHIC, painting, sculpture and urban street art with live performance on stage, our untraditional program with a twist of South Beach "Ocean Drive in Vienna", "Sounds from Hollywood", as well as May's Season Finale "Beethovenmania", introducing the winner of the MISO/Steinway Miami 2017 Young Pianist International Competition.
